Lincoln Bedroom myth (White House)

Popular accounts sometimes assert that Abraham Lincoln slept in the White House’s 'Lincoln Bedroom' the night he was assassinated or that he primarily resided there; in fact, Lincoln was shot at Ford’s Theatre and did not die in the White House. The room later became associated with Lincoln because he used it as an office and occasionally as a sleeping room during his presidency.
