Hillside (Plymouth, Massachusetts)

Hillside is a historic house located at 230 Summer Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts, built in 1845 in the Gothic Revival style. It is notable for being the site of one of the nation's first garden nurseries, established by Benjamin Watson, known as the 'Old Colony Gardens.' Additionally, the house has historical significance as the place where Ralph Waldo Emerson stayed the night before marrying Lydia Jackson, a local resident. Hillside was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1975, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
