Barnett Homestead

The Barnett Homestead is a historic grade II listed building located in Hampstead Garden Suburb, north London. Built in 1916 by architect John Soutar, it features 12 apartments designed for soldiers' widows and their children, funded by philanthropist Sir Alfred Yarrow. Named in honor of social reformer Samuel Augustus Barnett, the building showcases a Georgian architectural style with cottage vernacular elements. A commemorative plaque highlights Yarrow's respect for Barnett's contributions to society. Nearby, visitors can also explore the Henrietta Barnett School, founded by Barnett's wife.
