Morgan Tsvangirai House

Morgan Tsvangirai House, located in Harare, Zimbabwe, serves as the national headquarters for the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) political party. Renamed in 2018 to honor the late party leader Morgan Tsvangirai, this six-story building features a distinctive design with green concrete fronts and is situated at 44 Nelson Mandela Avenue. Historically, it was once the Belgian consulate in the 1950s. The building is a hub for political activity, housing offices, conference rooms, and a dedicated party secretariat. Despite its significance, it has faced numerous security breaches, including several police raids that resulted in the destruction of property and arrests of party members. The MDC continues to use this site for press briefings and political meetings, making it a focal point for democratic engagement in Zimbabwe.
