Galashiels Burgh Chambers

The Galashiels Burgh Chambers, located in Albert Place, Scotland, is a historic municipal building that served as the headquarters for the Galashiels Burgh Council. Built in 1867 in the Scottish Renaissance style, it features a striking design with a prominent tower and a war memorial commemorating local service personnel from World War I. The building has undergone several extensions, including a significant one designed by Sir Robert Lorimer in the 1920s. Notably, it hosts the annual 'Braw Lads' Gathering', celebrating the town's heritage. Although it ceased to be the local government seat in 1996, it remains a center for local services and a symbol of community pride.
