Cathedral Basilica of San Fernando (San Fernando Cathedral)

Founded by Canary Islander settlers in 1731, San Fernando Cathedral is one of the oldest continuously operating cathedrals in the United States and serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Antonio. The present Gothic Revival–influenced building dates largely to 19th-century reconstructions while the parish community traces to the 18th century. The cathedral's façade is used for the long-running nightly projection show "San Antonio | The Saga," which projects local history onto the building.
