Shirman House

The Shirman House, located at 20 Voroshilovsky Avenue in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, is a notable example of early 20th-century Art Nouveau architecture. Built in 1911 by architect Arutun Khristoforovich Zakiev, this five-storey brick building features intricate decorations including floral ornaments, bay windows, and delicate iron-cast railings. Historically significant, it served various purposes, including housing a printing house and a puppet theater, and was the site of important cultural events, such as the formation of the first Pioneer pack in Rostov and a visit by the famous poet Vladimir Mayakovsky. Today, it stands as a cultural heritage site, marked by memorial plaques commemorating its rich history.
