RCA Dome (Hoosier Dome) implosion and removal

The Hoosier Dome, later known as the RCA Dome, was the enclosed stadium that served as the Indianapolis Colts' home from 1984 through the 2007 NFL season. After the Colts moved into the new Lucas Oil Stadium, the RCA Dome was imploded and demolished in December 2008. The site is the same block now occupied by Lucas Oil Stadium and surrounding development. The dome's removal marked the end of a downtown sports venue that had dominated the block for more than two decades.
