San Juan City Hall

San Juan City Hall, located in the historic Old San Juan, serves as the administrative seat for the Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Built between 1604 and 1789, the building features a stunning façade inspired by Madrid's Casa de la Panadería, completed in 1840. Visitors can explore its impressive staircase and inner courtyard, while the first floor hosts tourism offices. The second floor is home to the Mayor's office and municipal government. Notably, the Sala Capitular has witnessed significant historical events, including the proclamation of Puerto Rico's first representative in Spain and the signing of the abolition of slavery. The city hall also features the San Juan Bautista Gallery, showcasing local artists' works.
