American Airlines Center - Mavericks' arena and site of 2011 NBA championship clinch

American Airlines Center opened in 2001 as the downtown Dallas arena for the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and the NHL's Dallas Stars. The Mavericks won their first NBA championship at this arena by clinching Game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals on June 12, 2011. The venue regularly hosts major sporting events, concerts, and other large-scale events in Dallas.
