Hôtel de Massa

The Hôtel de Massa is an 18th-century neoclassical townhouse located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, originally built for a finance minister and later moved to its current site beside the Paris Observatory. This historical monument has a rich history, having hosted notable figures and events, including romances of French nobility. In the 1920s, it was saved from demolition and relocated stone by stone to serve as the headquarters for the Société des gens de lettres, preserving a collection of literary memorabilia. Visitors can appreciate its architectural beauty and historical significance, as it is closely linked to the works of renowned author Honoré de Balzac.
