Doan's Adobe House

Doan's Adobe House, located in Wilbarger County, Texas, is a historic adobe structure built around 1880 by Corwin F. Doan. This unique building, measuring 17 by 27.5 feet, is one of the few adobe houses in North Texas and the last remaining structure from the once-thriving frontier town of Doan's Crossing, which served as a key stop on the Great Western Cattle Trail. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and is recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Visitors can find it near the Red River, accessible from County Road 111N and Farm to Market Road 924, east of Odell.
