Stephen Leacock Building

The Stephen Leacock Building, located at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, is a ten-storey Brutalist structure named after the famous Canadian humorist and economics professor Stephen Leacock. Constructed between 1962 and 1965, it was designed to accommodate the growing student population, particularly in the Faculty of Arts. The building houses various departments, including Humanities and Social Sciences, and features the largest lecture hall at McGill, Leacock-132, which can seat 650 students. Its unique architectural design includes precast concrete panels and a green roof, blending it with the surrounding campus. Visitors can access the building from multiple levels, making it a prominent and functional part of McGill's downtown campus.
