Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden - modern and contemporary focus

The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden opened in 1974 to house the art collection donated by Joseph H. Hirshhorn and is part of the Smithsonian Institution. Its distinctive cylindrical concrete building was designed by architect Gordon Bunshaft and sits on the National Mall.
