Stenton - home of James Logan

Stenton is the preserved country house of James Logan (1674–1751), a colonial-era merchant, attorney, and longtime secretary to William Penn; the house was constructed in the early 18th century around 1723. The site retains original architectural elements and period rooms that interpret Logan's role in colonial Pennsylvania and Germantown history. Stenton is open as a historic house museum documenting Logan's life and 18th-century domestic history.
