Valley Queen Mill

The Valley Queen Mill, located at 200 Providence Street in West Warwick, Rhode Island, is a historic five-story stone building constructed in 1834. Originally a cotton factory, it became part of the B.B.& R. Knight Company in 1888, known for producing Fruit of the Loom products. The mill was significant during the 1922 New England Textile Strike, which began when workers protested a wage cut. After changing ownership several times, it is now operated by the Howland Family, who continue to manufacture soap products. The mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in industrial history.
