Fisher Hall (Miami University)

Fisher Hall, originally the Oxford Female College, was a historic building at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, completed in 1856. It served various roles, including a men's residence hall, a sanitarium, and a naval training school during World War II. The building was known for its Georgian architectural style and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, though it was delisted the same year. Fisher Hall is also notable for the mysterious disappearance of student Ronald Tammen in 1953. After years of use, it was demolished in the late 1970s, and The Marcum Center, a hotel and conference facility, was built on its site in 1982, honoring a Miami alumnus.
