Town Farms Inn

The Town Farms Inn, located in Middletown, Connecticut, is a historic poor farm that dates back to the late 1830s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, this site features two principal brick buildings, with the older structure reflecting Federal style architecture. Originally a farmhouse built by Thomas Griswold Mather, the property served as a poor farm providing employment and sustenance to the indigent until 1946. Spanning 4.3 acres, it now houses a restaurant, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's social history and architectural heritage.
