Afrikahaus (Hamburg)

The Afrikahaus is a historic office building located at Große Reichenstraße 27 in Hamburg, Germany, built in 1899 as the headquarters for the C. Woermann trading company. Designed by architect Martin Haller, the building showcases exotic architectural elements and was granted listed monument status in 1972. Centrally situated near major attractions like Mönckebergstraße and Hamburg City Hall, the Afrikahaus features preserved architectural details such as cast iron supports and African motif mosaics. It is currently family-owned and houses various firms, including a restaurant, and is open for guided tours on the 'Day of Open Monuments.'
