Mason Temple - site of Martin Luther King Jr.'s final speech

On April 3, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his final public address, commonly known as the "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech, at Mason Temple, the headquarters of the Church of God in Christ in Memphis. The speech was given the day before King was assassinated at the Lorraine Motel. Mason Temple remains an active church and a documented location in the history of King's final days and the Memphis sanitation workers' strike.
