San Fernando Cathedral

San Fernando Cathedral, consecrated in 1750, is one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States and serves as the mother church of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The building incorporates 18th-century masonry from the original mission-era church and later 19th-century Gothic Revival alterations. The cathedral is a focal point of Main Plaza and has been the site of major civic and religious events in San Antonio history.
