Wistariahurst

Wistariahurst is a historic house museum in Holyoke, Massachusetts, originally built in 1868 for silk magnate William Skinner. Renowned for its beautiful wisteria vines, the mansion was relocated from Williamsburg to Holyoke after a flood in 1874. The museum features lavish interiors with original period finishes and 26 rooms, including a music room that once housed the Belle Skinner Collection of Old Musical Instruments. The estate, which has been open to the public since 1959, is surrounded by a stone wall and iron fencing, and includes a carriage house that has been restored to serve as an archival research center. Wistariahurst is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers insights into the region's industrial history and cultural heritage.
