Villa Sormani

Villa Sormani, located in the village of Moncucco in Brugherio, Italy, is a stunning example of Baroque architecture built in 1733 by architect Giovanni Ruggeri. This historic villa is notable for being the site of Italy's first public balloon flight in 1784, organized by Count Paolo Andreani. The villa features a grand stairway leading to its main entrance and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which include the relocated Saint Lucius Church, originally from Switzerland. The church was painstakingly transported and reconstructed over seventeen years, showcasing the architectural efforts of Giocondo Albertolli.
