Cabrillo National Monument - Fort Rosecrans underground magazines and bunkers

Cabrillo National Monument at Point Loma preserves remnants of Fort Rosecrans, including concrete coastal defense batteries with underground magazines, bunkers, and access tunnels that supported San Diego’s harbor defenses. Several of these underground structures remain visible or interpreted on-site and illustrate the area’s military history from the late 19th century through World War II. The site is interpreted by the National Park Service for visitors to learn about coastal fortifications.
