Old Courthouse, Ruthin

The Old Courthouse, located in St Peter's Square, Ruthin, is a historic Grade II* listed building in North Wales. Originally built in 1421 to replace an earlier structure, it has a rich history, including being the first building attacked during Owain Glyndŵr's revolt in 1400. After serving as a courthouse until 1663, it transitioned through various commercial uses, including a grocery store and a bank. In 2019, it was refurbished by Ruthin Town Council and now functions as a vibrant community venue, featuring a collaborative workspace, retail showcase, and the 'Stori Rhuthun' Heritage and art exhibition space, making it a significant cultural hub for both locals and visitors.
