French Legation Museum

The French Legation Museum is housed in a building constructed in 1841–1842, making it one of Austin's oldest surviving frame structures. The site interprets the Republic of Texas era and the French diplomatic presence, and the museum displays period furnishings and maintains historic gardens. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and operates as a public museum.
