Gunfield

Gunfield is a striking Gothic Revival house located in Norham Gardens, North Oxford, England, designed by architect Frederick Codd and completed in 1877. This Grade II listed building features red brick construction with stone dressings, tall chimneys, and a distinctive tower. Originally named by philanthropist Mary Jephson, Gunfield has a rich history, including hosting notable figures like Albert Einstein and Albert Schweitzer during musical soirees held by the Deneke sisters. Today, it serves as a Graduate Centre for St Edmund Hall, part of Oxford University, and is undergoing development alongside archaeological discoveries, including a Roman brooch, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
