Elvirasminde (building)

Elvirasminde, also known as Chokoladefabrikken, is a historic building complex in Aarhus, Denmark, originally established as a chocolate factory in 1875. Designed by architect Christian Frühstück Nielsen, the factory was built in 1912 and showcases Neoclassical architecture with its red brick facade and distinctive dormer windows. Once a major employer in the city, the factory produced a variety of chocolates until its decline in the 1950s. Today, Elvirasminde has been repurposed to house creative businesses and startups, making it a vibrant part of the historic Latin Quarter. The site not only reflects the industrial heritage of Aarhus but also serves as a testament to the evolution of urban industry.
