Franklin Hose Company No. 28

Franklin Hose Company No. 28, also known as Harmony Engine Company No. 6, is a historic fire station located in Philadelphia's Southwest Center City neighborhood. Built around 1849 and significantly altered in the late 1860s, this four-story brick structure features a distinctive mansard roof and an elegant granite-faced first story. With its architectural details like round arched windows and a prominent cornice, it stands as a testament to the city's rich firefighting history. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and was undergoing renovations as of February 2010, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in historical architecture and public safety heritage.
