The Elephant Building

The Elephant Building is a unique leisure centre located in Coventry, England, designed to resemble an elephant, reflecting the city's coat of arms. Opened in 1966, it features the region's only Olympic-size swimming pool and has been a central hub for sports in the West Midlands. Although it was part of the Coventry Sports & Leisure Centre until its closure in 2020, the building remains a notable architectural landmark. Its future is currently uncertain, with potential plans for redevelopment into a community art space, especially highlighted during Coventry's designation as UK City of Culture 2021.
