Copernicanum

The Copernicanum is a historic educational building located in downtown Bydgoszcz, Poland, named after the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus to commemorate his 450th birthday. Originally constructed in the early 20th century as a realschule, it has served various educational purposes over the years, including a high school and a technical railway institution. The building features an impressive Art Nouveau architectural style, with ornate facades and a notable sundial. Today, it houses a junior high school and is part of Bydgoszcz University, which has restored the facility to include modern educational amenities. Visitors can admire its architectural details and the large silver maples in its backyard, recognized as natural landmarks.
