Bank of Nova Scotia Building, Havana

The Bank of Nova Scotia Building in Havana is a stunning example of Neoclassical architecture, located at the historic intersection of Calle O´Reilly and Calle Cuba. Constructed in 1906, it originally served as a branch for the Canadian Bank of Nova Scotia, which was a significant foreign bank in Cuba during the early 20th century. The building was expanded in 1914 and continued to operate as a Scotiabank branch until 1959, when all non-Cuban banks were forced to close. Today, it is owned by Banco Metropolitano S.A. and is undergoing renovations, making it a noteworthy site for tourists interested in Cuba's banking history and architectural heritage.
