Hoyt Arboretum hillside overlooks

Hoyt Arboretum, located in Washington Park, contains more than 2,000 species of trees and over 12 miles of trails across the West Hills. Several trails and small clearings on the arboretum's higher slopes provide relatively secluded overlooks that peer down toward the Willamette River valley and parts of downtown Portland on clear days. These quieter, tree-framed viewpoints are less frequented than nearby formal parks and are accessed via trailheads from within Washington Park. The arboretum is jointly managed by Portland Parks & Recreation and the Hoyt Arboretum Society.
