San Diego Central Library rooftop garden

The San Diego Central Library's rooftop garden and observation terrace on the upper levels provide elevated views of downtown San Diego, Bankers Hill, and toward Balboa Park. The new central library building opened in 2013 and includes landscaped terraces and seating that serve as a quieter, urban viewpoint above street level. The rooftop is publicly accessible during library hours and is used for occasional public programs and art displays.
