Kockica

Kockica, meaning 'little cube' in Croatian, is a striking 10-story mixed-use building located in Zagreb, originally constructed to house the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Croatia. Designed by architect Ivan Vitić, the building's construction began in 1963 but faced delays due to the 1964 Zagreb flood, ultimately completing in 1968. Known for its cubic shape, Kockica is now home to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Tourism. The building's interior features impressive artworks from notable artists, making it a cultural landmark. It underwent significant renovations from 2017 to 2020, enhancing its energy efficiency. The Zagreb Tourist Board offers free guided tours, providing visitors with insights into its architectural and historical significance.
