Harris-Kearney House

The Harris-Kearney House, built in 1855, is the oldest brick residence in Kansas City, Missouri, located in the historic Westport neighborhood. Originally a Greek Revival mansion owned by Col. John Harris, it served as a significant landmark, including a hotel that hosted travelers on the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. The house was moved to its current location in 1922 to prevent demolition and has since been restored to reflect its 1855 appearance. Now a museum, it offers tours and events, showcasing period-appropriate furnishings and artifacts from the Harris and Kearney families, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers alike.
