The Weather Machine (Pioneer Courthouse Square)

The Weather Machine is a mechanical art installation in Pioneer Courthouse Square that debuted in 1988. Each day at noon the cylindrical sculpture rises and displays a symbol (sun, rain, snow, or fog) to represent a short-term weather forecast. The piece also performs on special civic occasions and is a regularly scheduled public feature of the square.
