Barnard's Inn

Barnard's Inn, located in Holborn, London, is a historic former Inn of Chancery that dates back to the mid-13th century. It has served various roles, including a school for law students and residential chambers for attorneys. The Inn features remarkable architectural elements, such as 15th-century wooden bays and the only surviving crown posts in Greater London. After suffering damage during the Gordon Riots in 1780, it was later purchased by the Mercers' Company and served as a school until 1959. Since 1991, it has been home to Gresham College, hosting public lectures. Notably, it is referenced in Charles Dickens's 'Great Expectations' as the lodging place of the protagonist, Pip.
