United States Mint, Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Mint is one of the U.S. Mint's primary production facilities and traces its institutional origins to the nation's first mint authorized in 1792. The current Philadelphia Mint complex produces circulating coinage, dies, and numismatic products for the United States and operates public education programs and occasional tours. The facility has played a continuous role in U.S. coin production and monetary-history interpretation for the region.
