Texas State Capitol

The Texas State Capitol, completed in 1888, is the seat of government for the state of Texas and houses the offices and chambers of the Texas Legislature and Governor. It is constructed from sunset red granite and its dome is taller than the dome of the U.S. Capitol. The Capitol and its grounds are open to the public and offer free guided tours through the Capitol Visitor Center.
