D.H. Anderson Building

The D.H. Anderson Building, a historic site in Maquoketa, Iowa, was constructed in 1882 and served various community functions over the years, including as a grocery store and meeting space for local organizations like the Masons and Knights of Pythias. Notable for its unique gable roof designed for a vaulted ceiling, the building was a family-owned landmark until 1956. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 but tragically succumbed to a devastating fire in 2008, which also affected several nearby structures.
