Charles Smith Scott Memorial Observatory

The Charles Smith Scott Memorial Observatory, also known as Park College Observatory, is a historic site located on the campus of Park University in Parkville, Missouri. Built in 1896, this observatory showcases a unique 'T'-plan architectural style made from ashlar limestone blocks and features an impressive octagonal two-story domed tower. Although it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, the observatory tragically burned down in 1999 and was later demolished. This site represents a significant piece of astronomical history and architectural heritage.
