Ford's Theatre and Lincoln's reported sightings

Ford's Theatre at 511 10th Street NW is the site where President Abraham Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865; he was taken across the street to the Petersen House where he later died. Over many decades staff and visitors at Ford's Theatre (and the Petersen House) have reported anecdotal sightings and auditory phenomena attributed to Lincoln's presence; these reports are documented in local histories but are disputed and considered anecdotal. Ford's functions today as both an active performance venue and a museum administered by the National Park Service.
