Fort Worth Water Gardens

The Fort Worth Water Gardens were designed by architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee and opened in 1974 as a modernist civic water feature adjacent to the convention center. The site contains multiple distinct pools, including an 'Active' aerating pool and terraced reflecting pools, and serves as an engineered public-space and stormwater aesthetic. The Water Gardens are frequently cited as a notable example of 20th-century urban landscape infrastructure in Fort Worth.
