Vietnam Veterans Memorial

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, designed by Maya Lin and dedicated on November 13, 1982, features two black granite walls inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 U.S. service members who died in or remain missing from the Vietnam War. The memorial landscape includes the Wall, the Three Soldiers statue, and the nearby Vietnam Women's Memorial. It is managed by the National Park Service and is a frequent site for wreath-laying ceremonies and personal remembrances. The design and its minimalist approach were the subject of public debate at the time of its construction.
