Fortis Building

The Fortis Building is a prominent 12-story high-rise located in downtown St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Originally part of a controversial expansion plan in 2010, which included a proposed new 15-story building and significant urban development, the project faced public and council opposition, leading to its withdrawal. In 2011, a revised plan for a new 12-story building was approved, showcasing the city's evolving architectural landscape. The Fortis Building is also undergoing retrofitting to achieve LEED Silver Certification, highlighting a commitment to sustainability.
