JMU Convocation Center

The JMU Convocation Center is a prominent 6,426-seat multi-purpose arena located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, opened in 1982. It served as the home for the James Madison Dukes men's and women's basketball teams until 2020 and has hosted significant events, including the 1984 ECAC South men's basketball tournament and multiple Coastal Athletic Association women's basketball tournaments. The venue is also known for its vibrant concert scene, featuring artists like The Kinks, Jason Derulo, and Macklemore. After the Dukes transitioned to a new arena, the Convocation Center was repurposed for volleyball and other university events, making it a key location for both sports and entertainment in the community.
