The Clock (Christian Marclay) at MoMA

The Clock is a 24-hour video montage by Christian Marclay that assembles thousands of film and television clips to display the actual time, synchronized to real-world time. MoMA presented the work as an installation in 2011–2012 after it won the Golden Lion at the 2011 Venice Biennale; screenings at the museum ran for scheduled blocks and were presented as a time-based installation. The piece is widely cited as a landmark contemporary video installation that merges cinematic history with real-time viewing.
