Betsy Ross House

The Betsy Ross House is a historic house museum traditionally identified as the residence where seamstress Betsy Ross lived and where she is said to have sewn the first American flag. The building dates to the 18th century and has been interpreted as a museum site since the late 19th century. Historians dispute the certainty of the claim that the first flag was made there, but the site remains a longstanding tourist attraction presenting Ross's life and 18th-century Philadelphia.
