The Saddlery

The Saddlery is a heritage-listed site located in Carcoar, New South Wales, Australia, built between 1840 and 1860. Originally a licensed inn, it later became a butcher shop and then a saddlery operated by Alexander Clarke until his death in 1905. The building features fine Georgian architecture, including a two-storied brick shop and a single-storey wing, showcasing rare elements like a 'shuttered' shop front and unusual sash windows. The site is significant for its historical connections to the Clarke family and its contribution to the character of Carcoar, having been restored in the 1980s and listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register in 1999.
